Another fresh new year is here . .Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”

Hey from Idaho

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Hey everyone, this is Brian Bevacqua writing from Coeur d’Alene Idaho.  Up here rocking out my internship for school, having a ton of fun hanging out on the beach, renting out boats, and white water rafting.  Been here for about a month now, and have been more busy than I could have ever imagined.  Just finished volunteering for a National Ford Iron Man competition, worked as a safety boater for the swim and in the medical tent for the rest of the day.  Was a real blast, met a lot of awesome athletes from all over the world.

This is where I work, sweet right?

The rivers up here are pumping, high volume and a lot of fun.  Just took a gnarly swim today in fact, total carnage on the Clark Fork River in Montana while doing a rafting adventure with a youth camp.  To be expected when paddling an IK (Inflatable Kayak).  Been doing a lot of sea kayaking on the big lake as well, doing a multi day adventure in a couple of weeks.  Keep on keeping 0n back  east, and I will catch you all in September.

Still River name?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I’m often asked where the name “Still River Outfitters” comes from.  The name actually comes from a river here in Bolton MA along with a village in our neiboring town of Harvard. The Still River comes out of swamp in Bolton Flatts WMA and flows North for a mile or so to join the Nashua River in the village of Still River in Harvard.

So “Still River” actually refers to a River/Region as opposed to the quality of the water we paddle in. Clearly with all of the white water and ocean kayaking we do there’s nothing “still” about the water we paddle at all…

Here are a few pictures of the river and places near us that bear the “Still River” name.
