We  started Still River Outfitters in 2004.  We’ve been teaching outdoor programs and getting people of all ages active outdoors ever since.   Our strength is in the people who bless us with their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm.  Below is a snap shop of these very special people!

David Cudmore:  Owner, Instructor, WILD Coach

David is who you’ll likely talk to if you call, e-mail, or run into us out on the water teaching somewhere.  David likes to say he did his penance as a Quality Analyst in high-tech for 20 years so now kayaks for a living.  David is an ACA Certified Coastal Kayak, River Kayak, and River Canoe Instructor and is working to become an ACA Instructor Trainer.  David also works as part of the Sales Team for Jackson Kayak.

Karen Cudmore:  Owner, Instructor, WILD Coach

By day Karen is a 4rth Grade teacher in Harvard MA, by night she’s Super Mom and keeper of the SRO master schedule.  Karen’s an ACA Certified Coastal Kayak Instructor and designer of our signature Mommy/Daddy and Me Kayak Class.

Galen Carey:  Instructor, WILD Coach

Galen works in the Pharmaceutical Industry but his heart is always linked to a kayak on the water.  Galen was born and raised in Wales and came to the U.S. to work for a few years, fell in love with the country and never left.  Galen has so many stars after his BCU endorsements that we’ve lost count.

Gina Klay:  Instructor

Gina is a true “jack of all trades.”  In addition to the classes she teaches for SRO you may find her teaching woman’s boxing, self defense, or Italian cooking.  Beware…  Gina’s good nature approach to everything is contagious.

Connor Bodell:  Instructor, WILD Coach

Connor is a student at Southern New Hampshire University majoring in Film. Connor is easy to identify by his Subaru crammed with his kayak and various stages of “dry” kayak gear.  Connor is an ACA Whitewater Kayak Instructor and spends some of his summer break paddling in kayak competitions at various Nationally known events like the Teva Mountain Games.

Some of our Guest Instructors are:

Mark Moore: Mark lives in Montpelier Vermont where he alternates chasing his two kids with teaching kayaking and canoeing through his company Outdoor Mentors.  Marks is an ACA Instructor and Instructor Trainer in just about every paddling discipline you can think of.

Jimmy Blakeney: Jimmy has won many awards as a pro kayaker and is an ACA Whitewater Kayak Instructor.  Jimmy is the founder/owner of Northeast Paddle Surf and is currently the paddlesports manager for Bic Outdoors.

Our WILD Kids: The students of our WILD Outdoor Leadership program are often found helping out our regular instructors.  They are a special group and are as integral in the culture of SRO as any of our Instructors.  They are:  Alan, Jillian, Katie, Gareth, Alison, Ryan, Sam, Parker, Nick, Holly, Lizzie, Sam(antha), Lizzie G, Meg, and Patrick
